Storing your photos on ZooFoo’s central servers gives you myriad benefits over desktop digital photography. But how to get all those photos from your camera or desktop PC to the web? Enter the ZooFoo Photo Loader.

Seven functions differentiate the ZooFoo Photo Loader from its competitors:

1. Preserving your photo organization on the web

Our Photo Loader is the only photo loader available that preserves the structure of folders you have created on your PC. Even if you have many nested folders the Photo Loader will retain your structure so you don't have to reorganize them all over again. We won't put all of your photos into one album, unless you ask us to.

2. Self healing

What happens if you computer goes to sleep in the middle of a large photo upload, or your camera battery dies, or shuts down? Our Photo Loader has several layers of technology that look for these scenarios and prevent them, or automatically "heal" your account if they occur. For example:
  • Your computer goes to sleep. The ZooFoo Photo Loader records what has been successfully uploaded to our servers, and when your computer restarts, it picks up where it left off. You don’t need to do anything, including start over!
  • Your camera's battery dies during a load. No worries. ZooFoo creates a copy of the files on your camera before beginning an upload.
  • Your USB device is unplugged mid-upload. Similar to the camera situation, our Loader makes a temporary copy so it can continue its work uninterrupted.

3. Album creation and album targeting

From within the Photo Loader, you can create web albums and target them as the destination for your photos. This saves you time, as you don’t need to login to your web account.

4. Compression & resizing

On the fly, our Photo Loader intelligently compresses or resizes your photos to one of three sizes, or leaves them in their original state. This saves you transfer time and storage space.

5. Changing the web account

Away from home? You can use another ZooFoo Photo Loader, point it at your account, and upload your photos to your account. During holidays or visits with family, you no longer have to utter those words "Can you send me those photos?"

6. Undo/Redo

Undo/redo allows you to back up if you made an editing mistake. A critical feature when you are working on more than just a few photos.

7. Simplicity

Intentionally, you see little other than a working canvas when you use the Photo Loader. Most of the functionality is "below the hood," and we give you all of the screen real estate as a place to view and manage your photos.

8. Super fast install times and updates

Our photo loader installs in 5 to 10 seconds, and updates occur in fewer than 5 seconds. To put this in perspective, it installs over 130 times faster than Kodak Easyshare!

A few other photo loading features that exist elsewhere, that we’ve tried to improve:

1. Keyboard editing

Our Photo Loader includes keyboard shortcuts that make editing or deleting photos fast. Just tap the delete key in Enlarge mode, for example, and that photo is gone, and the next one is displayed.

2. Plug-in camera support

Plug in your camera and our Photo Loader will grab your files automatically. That's all you have to do.

3. File types

We support .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .png, .tif, and .tiff photos.

4. Photo metadata

The Photo Loader intelligently grabs photo names, exposure date, and tags from Windows, when the data is available, and sends it to your web account with your photo.
