Photo Sharing
|
Ever since Joseph Nicéphore Niépce captured the first "heliographic" image in 1826 photographers have been interested in sharing their photos. Likewise, as long as digital photographs have existed Internet users have been interested in sharing photos online. Once you have made the decision to upload and manage your photos online you also get the opportunity to share your photographs with the world.
PhotoFriendsPhotoFriends is unique social networking and photo sharing tool developed by ZooFoo. We wanted a new way to stay in touch with the people that matter: through their photographs. If someone you know is a member of ZooFoo you can add them as a PhotoFriend. As you load your photos to ZooFoo and begin to organize them you will have the option of dragging photos and dropping them into your PhotoFriends feed. Any photo you share on this feed will instantly turn up on the pages of your friends and family - or anyone you have added to your PhotoFriends! At the same time if they add any photos to their feed you will instantly be aware of them from your ZooFoo manager page. Photo Friends is an interlaced system so you can simultaneously view feeds from many different users on the same page.If you don't want to check your PhotoFriends feed every day you can request to receive email updates sent to you daily or weekly. You even have the option to make PhotoFriends public - like an album - and share your live photo feed with the world!
Online AlbumsJust like their traditional paper equivalents, online photo albums were invented to display large groups of related photographs. Albums and galleries can be designed for a websites to display photos of users, products or services. There are virtually unlimited digital photo gallery styles that can be designed. When you upload your photos to ZooFoo you can create and manage complex multi-layered photo albums which can be shared and updated dynamically while retaining a stable link. What does this mean? When you send your friend a link to your ZooFoo album that link will keep working even as you change the album by adding or removing photos. The layout and design of online photo albums hugely impacts the sharing and viewing experience. Many online photo albums try to cram as much as possible into a single page and the albums look cluttered or scattered - dozens of links or advertisements crowd out the photo itself. ZooFoo albums take a slightly different approach. Rather then being as fancy and complex as possible we opted for simplicity. By making our albums as beautiful yet simple as possible we also made them easier to use, better looking and faster loading. We take the focus off of links, ads or our site and we turn that focus to your photos.
Embedded ImageAnother common method of sharing photos online is to embed the photo into a blog or personal website. Often photos which are embedded on a site are hosted from a third party site. By storing the photos on a hosting specific website, users can host many more photos than if they were being hosted through a free web hosting service. When you host a photograph on ZooFoo we generate automatic embed code you can use to easily embed the image in three different sizes.Once you have used ZooFoo's code to embed an image into your blog or personal site that image becomes a link back to your ZooFoo album making it easier for people who find your site to come back and view the your photos.
Email a PhotoPhoto attachments in email has been a staple of the Internet as long as the technology has existed. This has also become a point of frustration for many web users. Email client programs are not designed to handle displaying high resolution images. When a large, high resolution photograph is attached or embedded into an email the photo is often displayed at 100% of its resolution which means it is far too large for most screens. ZooFoo solves this problem by including the ability to automatically email specific albums or individual photos to any email address directly from within the site. Once the email is opened they find a link to the album or photo and never have to deal with trying to download and format huge photos that should have simply been shared online.ZooFoo can even help you view overly large files that are forwarded to you. If you forward an email you have received that contains an image attachment to you account ZooFoo will automatically strip out any attachments and post them to your account. This way you never have to deal with downloading and viewing unwieldy photos through your email client! |
