Uploading and sharing photos is all well and good. However all that loading and sharing is rendered much more useful with the ability to manage photos. ZooFoo has developed a powerful yet simple online Photo Manager tool which will help you organize and arrange your photos for backup as well as to share online. Before you can use this tool you must join ZooFoo.

After you have made your ZooFoo account and uploaded some pictures it is time to manage and organize them. Start by going to http://www.zoofoo.com and logging in with your email and password.

When using ZooFoo we highly encourage you to switch your browser to fullscreen mode by pressing the F11 key. This will greatly enhance your viewing experience. When you are done using ZooFoo just press F11 again to return to normal mode.

After logging in you will be taken to your account view. Click Manage to access the Photo Manager. You will see the following links at the top of the page: Photo Manager, Upload Photos, Backup, My Account, Logout and View. Clicking on these links will take you to different parts of the manager:

  • ZooFoo: Clicking the yellow ZooFoo icon in the upper right corner will let you toggle between the Manager and the View mode.

Clicking once more on Photo Manager will take you back to the manager itself. Here you see a number of different things. On the left you can see your Photo Friends feed with a light peach colored background. You can easily click, drag and drop any photo from your albums into this box to quickly share it with users who are on your Photo Friends list. If you click the All Photos button in the Photo Friends feed box you will be taken to your Photo Feed manager tool. You can choose to see All Photos, Other's Photos or My Photos.

  • New: Click this to create a new album. A dialogue box will pop up which allows you to assign a Title, Description and make a Private/Public designation. Once you click "Create" you will see the album appear in your Photo Library.
  • Edit: This allows you to edit the Title, Description and privacy level of an existing. Album. Once desired changes have been made click "Save" to return to the Photo Manager.
  • Share Album: Clicking this brings you to a Share Album dialogue box. This lets you email a link to your album to a friend with a custom message. Once you have entered the email address as well as your greeting click "Share" to send it to a friend and return to the Photo Manager.

  • View Album: Takes you to the Album View mode for that specific album.
  • Share Album: Same as Share Album above.

To the right of Photo Friends and Photo Library is the Photo Album Manager. At the top is the Layout selector. If you click the down arrow a menu will drop down allowing you to select from a variety of different album layouts. This is how you choose the layout that other people will see when they view your album. To the right of this you will see the album title in large font with a "Share" link next to it. This link serves the same functionality as clicking "Share Album" in the Photo Library.

Below the album title will is a large box containing thumbnail versions of all the photos in that specific album. Here is where a lot of the organizational power exists. Try double clicking an image to see a larger version of it. Click once on the large image to return to the manager. If you put your mouse over a thumbnail you will see a small box appear with information about the image. Two buttons will also appear below the picture:

Share: Clicking this button brings you to a dialogue box with three options:

  • Share Photo: Here you can send a link to the photo to a specific email address along with a custom message. Fill out the boxes and click "Share"
Embed Photo: This will generate automatic embed code for three differently sized versions of the image. Select Small, Medium or
  • Large and then click "Copy embed code to clipboard". Paste the code wherever you want to embed that image.
  • Download Picture: Need to recover your original image file? No problem! Click this to download the image directly to your computer.

Edit: Clicking this button brings you to a dialogue box where you can rotate the photo or modify the Title, Description, Date and Tags. Click "Save" when you are finished editing your photo.

Another feature is the ability to drag and drop images. Click a thumbnail and try dragging it. You can drop it into your Photo Friends feed, into another album, into the Trashcan on the bottom right part of the screen or even rearrange the photos in a given album.

Below the thumbnail images are three more controls. Clicking the Select All button will select all the Photos in the album you are viewing. This allows you to move them all at the same time to a different album. The Image Size slider bar lets you dynamically control the size of the thumbnail images you are seeing.

Finally on the bottom right is the Trashcan icon. Drag photos you no longer want here. If you click the Trashcan icon you can see the photos that have been trashed. Click "Empty All Trash" to permanently delete these images. Photos left in the trash will be deleted after 30 days.
